Job Title: Golf Shop Assistant

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Golf Professional, the employee will oversee and coordinate golf service operations. Work cooperatively with other golf staff to ensure special events and daily golf operations run efficient. Assist with the management of retail operations under general supervision. Working hours include weekday, weekends, on-call hours and some holidays.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Monitors customers on the golf course, sets tee times to coordinate pace of play;

Tracks and verifies all player and guest charges;

Ensures customer satisfaction; responds to complaints and inquiries in a timely manner;

Ensures appropriate merchandising of golf shop; cleans, organizes and re-stocks shelves;

Assists in retail customer services and sales;

Operates POS – point of sale and oversees daily transactions;

Cash handling, daily deposits and delivery of invoices on a daily basis; additional line

Fulfills special orders for customers as needed;

Performs quarterly merchandise inventories to ensure City’s assets are accounted for;

Performs year-end inventory;

Coordinates all golf services and operations;

Develops, administers and coordinates all tournaments and league programs;

Administers member tournaments winning accounts and promotes association special events:

Ensures facilities are operational for tournaments and special events:

Trains, develops and directs temporary/seasonal staff;

Ability to assist golf professionals with lessons;

Ability to implement various training techniques and methods tailored to customer individual needs

Job Specifications:

High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of experience working in golf course setting;

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of golf rules and methods of play; tournament, course and driving range operations;

Knowledge of techniques and teaching tools related to swing, putting and mental preparation;

Working knowledge of golf instruction in both individual and group formats;

Knowledge of tournament operations and outside events; operations for league play for men and women;

Knowledge of golf handicap information;

Effective product and merchandising techniques;

Exceptional retail sales and customer service techniques

Gain trust and earn credibility to ensure customers are satisfied with their lessons

Ensure timely completion of tasks

Operation POS proficiently, word processing and spreadsheet software applications at an efficient level;

Licenses and Certifications:

Possession of valid State of Idaho driver’s license and safe driving record.
